General Information

Workshop Overview
This workshop introduces the experiential approach of Julie Murphy, International Hakomi Trainer, to the theory, assessment and treatment of attachment repair.  Learn how to apply mindfulness-based somatic interventions to heal clients’ early relational imprints and wounds, whether you are working directly with clients’ attachment wounds or simply helping clients to feel safe.

Structure
Participants will learn to work experientially with clients through the mixture of short didactic lectures, discussions, and experiential exercises. Mindfulness provides a basis of investigation of self and other that facilitates the gentle exploration and transformation of deeply held unconscious beliefs and patterns of organization.  Therapists will learn practical skills that will be immediately applicable in working with attachment issues and patterns in clinical practice.

Learning Objectives

  • To become familiar with specific experiential principles and techniques immediately applicable in clinical practice
  • How to create safety and relationship to foster repair of attachment wounds
  • Theoretical maps for developmental issues, attachment imprints and neurobiological underpinnings
  • How to cultivate loving presence, empathy and understanding as resources for working with insecure attachment and fostering a secure base

For Whom
For therapists, allied health professionals and individuals interested in learning about mindfulness and its applications in working with relational patterns.

C.E.U.s
This training provides 3 continuing education credits for MFT's or LCSW's as required by the California Board of Behavioral Science
. There will be a $15 charge for CEU certificate.
