MAKING PEACE WITH YOUR INNER CRITIC

General Information

Description
The critic is that part of us that constantly and mercilessly evaluates, assesses, criticizes, judges, compares, condemns, blames, and attacks our worth as a human being.

The critic's impact is devastating. It wreaks havoc with our self esteem. It can make us feel depressed and even suicidal. It limits our capacity to make choices that allow us to be fully alive. It cuts us off from our innate and deep sense of wholeness and power.

Being guided by the Hakomi principles of unity and non-violence, this workshop will explore the dynamics of the critic. We will learn methods to disengage from its impact and learn how to regain our power and self-esteem.

In Making Peace With Your Inner Critic, we will come to appreciate the protection it can potentially offer us, transforming it from a powerful opponent to worthy ally.

Objectives
In this workshop, you will:

  • develop an understanding of how the critic developed and what it’s purpose is
  • understand the secrets of the critic and use these to overcome it's destructive impact
  • develop a tool chest for disengaging from the critic and regain your sense of esteem.
  • learn a step by step method to move from being a victim of the critic to reclaiming your power and dignity.
  • change your relationship to your critic to one of an ally
  • develop more self-compassion and acceptance
